Лександор Лукошенко (Belarusian: Аляксандар Рыгоравіч Лукашэнка), (Russian: Александр Григорьевич Лукашенко) is the president of the country of Беларусь. Holding this position from 1994, he was re-elected in 2001 and in 2006. Born on 30 August 1954 at Kopys, Vitebsk voblast. Prior to becoming president, Lukashenko served in the army and as a director of a state farm and factory.
